Smiles Top Dating Preferences

May, 29, 2013. Dallas, TX- Being a single person in the competitive dating world can be daunting. Appearance and chemistry are the keys to finding the right partner and almost everyone wants to find the right person to be with. Little can be done about chemistry, but your appearance is a different matter and according to a new study the mouth or more appropriately the smile is the key to having a successful dating life.

The survey conducted in Briton showed that when dating, both men and women placed a higher importance on a person’s smile than they did on the how they look in a bathing suit. And not only is the smile important in our dating lives it is also important to our careers.

According the Female First, 75 percent of survey respondents agreed that a stellar smile was most important when choosing a love interest. For a quarter, crooked teeth were a turn-off and would stop them from a dating a person. That’s because to most people your smile, the appearance of your teeth are reflective of pride you take in your appearance, at least that’s how 50 percent felt.

Not only did a fantastic smile help a person on the dating front, but it was also a boost to your career.  Looks did mean everything to the respondents, with the majority saying that straight teeth were a sign of wealth and success, signaling that an individual has a good job.

Judi James, a behavioral psychologist explained why the smile is so important to Female First UK, “The great thing about people having the confidence to smile is the natural impulse in the receiving person to return the smile. This instantaneous reaction often triggers a dramatic effect on our own mood, creating a sense of well-being.”

James added, “The outward performance of happiness and well-being produces a similar effect on our subconscious – by echoing a smile, it can give us a boost in confidence and cheer us up.”

The gist of the study is; if you want to have a successful love life and a fruitful career you need a nice smile and straight teeth. As with any part or portion of the human body, not all people are blessed to have perfectly straight teeth, sometimes because of a birth defect or injury.  Many people have a cleft lip or palate or both. Others are have overbites or under bites that cannot easily corrected with braces.

Maxillofacial surgery was developed to help individuals struggle with the less than perfectly straight jaws and teeth, or other flaws that make one’s smile unappealing. Disney Star Dishes on Nose Job

May, 22, 2013, Dallas, TX-The nose is front and center on the face so it’s no surprise, this feature can cause a person great discontent. Lots of people heavily scrutinize their noses and find things wrong with the, maybe they have a bump, perhaps their nostrils are too large, it’s crooked or in they are like former Disney star Amanda Bynes.

The blonde starlet confessed earlier this month that she had plastic surgery over Twitter like a lot of other celebrities.  She told her followers that having a nose job “was the most amazing thing” she could have done for her self-confidence, US Weekly reported.

Bynes was apparently bothered by what she described as “webbing” on her nose, and had a nose job, a few years ago. She dished about the nose job because she had to explain why she was complaining about magazines a bloggers using old photos of her.

In a Tweet Bynes said, “Intouch (magazine) used a photo from years ago on their cover and I hate it! The reason I’ve asked all magazines and blogs to stop using old photos of me is I don’t look like that anymore!”

Further explaining, “I had a nose job to remove skin that was like a webbing (sic) in between my eyes. I wasn’t going to tell anyone, but I look so much prettier in my new photos that I don’t want old photos used anymore!”

Bynes is just one of the many celebrities who have reaped the benefits of nose reshaping. Actress Jennifer Anniston, reality star Heidi Montag and recently Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Kyle Richardson have all openly admitted to having rhinoplasty.

The nose was one of the first physical features people began to alter, since it is such a prominent feature. Early incarnations of the nose job, also known as rhinoplasty, can be traced all the way back to ancient India and throughout the centuries the technique has been practiced and perfected.

An oversized, bulbous or crooked nose can make a person feel unattractive or make their face look imbalanced. There is no harmony among the facial features. A harmonious balance between the eyes, nose and mouth is a key element of beauty and flawed or large nose can spoil an otherwise attractive face.

The nose is such an important feature that nose jobs are among the most common cosmetic surgeries, and if done right no one will be able to tell. Typically, plastic surgeons rely on the natural contours of the patient’s nose to give them the best results.

Skillful plastic surgeon Dr. John Freeman has concentrated his practice on perfecting and beautifying the face. Along with rhinoplasty, Dr. Freeman expertly performs a number of facial cosmetic surgeries, including facelifts, chin augmentations, cheek implants and maxillofacial surgeries at his Katy practice. Face Lifts Take Away the Years

May, 17, 2013, Dallas, TX-Aging is natural process, but that doesn’t mean people have to like it or just live with it. Our faces quickly give away our age and bring our self-confidence way down. As luck would have it men and women don’t have to “let nature take its course,” they don’t have to “age gracefully” if they don’t want to, because there are number of cosmetic procedures from minimally-invasive ones such as Botox and laser resurfacing to surgical ones like a face or eye lift that help them stop the ravages if time.

Facelifts are among the most sought after age-defying procedures, but it is a surgical procedure that requires incisions and a recovery period that can last for a few weeks. For patients who are considering a face-lift, their most frequently asked question is “How long will the results last?”

A study conducted last year aimed to determine just how long the age-defying effects of a facelift would last for the majority of patients. After evaluating photographs of fifty patients, who previously underwent a facelift, researchers discovered that the effects of the surgery last up to 5 ½ years and also noted a remarkable improvement in the patient’s appearance.

According to the results of the study, which appeared in the December issue of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, and one of the first of its kind,  the facial areas which showed the most significant improvement were the lines that run from the nose to mouth and the mouth to the jaw.

“Scoring suggested that 76 percent of patients will still look younger 5 ½ year after a facelift than they did prior to facelift,” the researchers said.  That is an excellent rate of success and should give patients the assurances they need if they are in doubt about the procedure.

Facelifts are the only facial procedures that people turn to combat aging, other procedures, eyelifts, brow lifts, neck lifts and rhinoplasty are also great ways for people to hang onto a youthful appearance and give their self-esteem a boost. Eyelifts, facelifts and nose jobs are so effective that they consistently rank in the top five most popular cosmetic procedures year after year.

Though women made up the majority facelift patients, men are becoming more accepting of plastic surgery and other cosmetic enhancements. Three percent more men had facelifts in 2011 than in previous years as they face an increasingly competitive and younger workforce.

With the results of this study a Dallas cosmetic surgeon can assure their patients the will still look young for several years after having a facelift, so it is well worth the costs and recovery time.

Moms and Daughters Combat Age

May 9, 2013, Katy, TX- Mothers and daughters are always looking for ways to spend valuable time together. Women find many ways to bond and nothing unites them more than their appearance. Since looks are so important to Dallas mothers and daughters they have found that plastic surgery is a great way to bond.

It’s no secret that women don’t like to age or get older, in a recent Allure survey 91 percent of women and 84 percent of men agreed that women were under the most pressure to defy the signs of aging and maintain a youthful appearance. Since looking younger is so important to many women, plastic surgeons are seeing an increase of mothers and daughters coming to their offices together.

Such is the case of two Dallas women, featured in a Daily Mail story from last fall, who said they did everything together, so plastic surgery was just another way for them to bond and spend time together.

Jani Reyes told her mother Tasha Sheckells that she wanted a facelift, liposuction on her neck and cosmetic fillers.  Reyes said “I decided right away that was what I was going to do. And then [Tasha] said “Well, I need a few things too.”

Shortly, after that conversation the two women scheduled a consultation with a local plastic surgeon and decided to have their procedure together so they “could be there for each other.”

Sheckells was pleases with her results and said the best thing about her procedure was it allowed her to bond with her daughter, “She held my hand through the whole thing, and helped me after I got home.”

Plastic surgery patients like Sheckells and Reyes, having a procedure together offers them the opportunity to have someone share their experience and provide support while they go through the recovery process.

So why are mother-daughter procedures becoming so popular in Dallas? Some believe that reality television shows like “Big Rich Texas” is helping make mother-daughter procedures more popular. The increasing number of celebrities who are happy to boast about their cosmetic surgeries has some part in helping the industry to grow.

Along with the obvious physical benefits of facial plastic surgery, it can also give your self-esteem a much needed boost and improve your overall mental health, which only makes mother-daughter relationships stronger.

Last summer Men’s Health gave Dallas the title of the fifth vainest city in the U.S., it also has the highest concentration of cosmetic surgeons per capita. With so many plastic surgeons to choose from, it can be difficult for a person to decide, but it you want a surgeon with integrity that you can trust Dr. John Freeman if the doctor for you.
