Will Millionaire Matchmaker Get a Facelift?

Patti Stanger, better known as the “Millionaire Matchmaker,” is no stanger to the spotlight. But since appearing in the first season on the “Millionaire Matchmaker” show on Bravo in 2008, Stanger has known that she is not getting any younger. The signs of age and the stress of her career have taken a toll on her, as they would with anyone in their 40s, and she opted for plastic surgery.

Harpers Bazaar DUKES OF MELROSE Launch Event in LA

But unlike many celebrities in Hollywood, Stanger is not one to shy away from the fact that she’s had some work done and is proud to admit her plastic surgery history.

“We’re all getting plastic surgery…Yeah, I’m proud of it, because we’re all doing it,” said Stanger.

A few years ago, Stanger underwent a breast reduction and lift and was extremely happy with the results. However, when her 7-year relationship with Andy Friedman, a real-estate executive, ended in 2010, the matchmaker started to feel self-conscious again, especially when it came to the dating scene.

Now in her 50s, Stanger wasn’t finding it as easy to find love for herself as it was for her clients, and her self-esteem began to fall. But after a year of struggling, Stanger decided it was time to take matters into her hands, or rather, into the hands of her plastic surgeon.

Back in 2011, Stanger opted for a second breast reduction and lift and an eyelift as well, which she claims transformed her life for the better. Although what she really initially wanted was facelift, her surgeon recommended against it.

Does that mean Stanger won’t opt for one in the coming years? Knowing her positive attitude about plastic surgery, she may very well get a facelift before turning 60.

Stanger does not look a day over 30 and with her new-found confidence, she radiates youth and beauty.

Now, Stanger is happily dating mortgage broker David Krause, whom she actually met on a dating site. The results of her eyelift surgery were better than she thought, when Krause paid her the ultimate compliment and said she looked younger than her real age.

It’s not surprising that Stanger would look much younger than her age following her eyelift, given the fact that the face can show either signs of aging or youth and vigor. When it comes to patients who are looking for a rejuvenating procedure, eye, brow and face lifts are often the top choice. Facial surgery can eliminate wrinkles and fine lines as well as loose skin, taking years off of the patient. Younger patients may wish to start off with an eyelift, like Stanger, and may later want to upgrade to the full facelift. But no matter what the age of the patient, the results are life changing.

The Facebook Facelift

The facelift is one of the most sought after plastic surgery procedures because of its many advantages. Many people who are feeling self conscious due to the signs of age on the face can turn back the hands of time with a facelift, removing loose skin, wrinkles and fine lines on the forehead and around the eyes and mouth. The result is a younger and more refreshed appearance that will leave patients not only looking but feeling their best.

In fact, facial plastic surgery is becoming so popular it is literally “trending” online. In India, a new plastic surgery fad has been created and it’s sweeping across the globe at a very fast pace. Although the majority of facelift patients tend to be over the age of 40, women and men in their 20s and 30s in India are getting facelifts so they can look good on social media sites.

Though plastic surgery of any kind is a very personal decision and should never be based on another person’s opinion, India plastic surgery patients are literally putting their best face forward on sites like Facebook and Twitter through the help of facelift surgery. The goal of these patients is to look as good as possible in their profile pictures so they can attract job opportunities or even find love. Since social media has become one of the world’s preferred communication methods, it makes sense that users would want to have only the most flattering pictures of themselves on their personal or professional accounts.

The trend has become so popular it has been dubbed the “Facebook Facelift.” In addition to facelift surgery, patients are also opting for rhinoplasty and chin augmentation.

Although most of these patients are too young to truly experience the benefits of facelift surgery, the face is the first thing that people notice when they meet someone, and when it comes to social media sites, the face is in many cases, is the only physical feature that is photographed. The face can tell volumes about a person, including their age, their personality, and their level of vigor. If the individual is tired or stressed, their face will undoubtedly give it away and may affect their chances of obtaining a job or connecting with a potential love interest.

Yet, as with all cosmetic surgeries, the decision is not one that should be made lightly. It’s important for patients to turn to a trusted facial plastic surgeon in order to obtain the most natural and optimal results.  If you have considered getting a facelift or any other facial cosmetic procedure in Texas, turn to Katy plastic surgeon Dr. John P. Lifting the Stigma on Facelifts

These days, an increasing number of people are turning to facelift surgery to look and feel their best. Here in Texas, residents who are trying to fight the signs of aging turn to Katy plastic surgeon Dr. John P. Freeman requesting a facelift because they know it is one of the best and most successful ways to do so. A facelift offers many benefits, including the elimination of sagging skin, wrinkles and puffiness around the eyes that come with age, allowing patients to feel rejuvenated. In fact, an increasing number of men are also undergoing facelift surgery to turn back the hands of time.

At one point, admitting you had plastic surgery was considered taboo, but now, patients are actually praised for their candor – especially public figures.  Women in politics, who are especially influential, have served as inspiration for many cosmetic surgery procedures throughout the years. These days, it’s Michelle Obama’s toned arms that are causing a spike in plastic surgery rates, but 30 years ago, when cosmetic surgery was still kept under wraps, it was the ever-charismatic Betty Ford who inspired the nation to turn to cosmetic surgery.

When we look at a public figure, what’s the first thing we notice? Their face, of course (followed closely by their choice in outfit). More than three decades ago, then-First Lady Betty Ford revealed she had a facelift – the first facelift ever to be revealed in the history of the White House. This kind of news wouldn’t be out of the ordinary today, but back then, when cosmetic surgery patients tended to keep their procedures a secret, Ford’s confession not only garnered praise, but gave women – and men – across the country the boost in confidence they needed to undergo a facelift or any other cosmetic treatment.

Since Ford, there hasn’t been another woman in the White House to admit to having a facelift or any other cosmetic surgery, but Ford’s confession was all it took to spark a revolution.

Other public figures have also admitted to getting a facelift, including actress Jane Fonda and even former Olympic runner and current reality-TV star, Bruce Jenner. Although Michelle Obama may not yet be ready for a facelift, in the eyes of many, Hilary Clinton sure is.

When Clinton stepped down as Secretary of State after four years in office, many thought she was looking increasing tired and worn down. At 65 years of age, Clinton would be the ideal candidate for a facelift, possibly even increasing her chances of getting into the White House in 2016. Not only would she regain her stamina and vigor, but she would also inspire prospective patients to do the same for themselves.

Some public figures – especially men – hide the fact that they’ve had work done because they feel it undermines their credibility. But in reality, the stigma on facelifts has been lifted for quite some time. Anyone considering a facelift these days might actually find they have plenty of encouragement and support. Everyone has the right to look – and feel – their best, and a facelift is definitely a great way to do so.

Cosmetic Surgeries by Age

July 10, 2013, Dallas, TX- Time takes its toll on the human face, at some point we are all going to wake up one day and realize we have aged. That aging process may be subtle at first, but by our 40’s and 50’s wrinkles become obvious and our features begin to droop, but fortunately there are a number of facial cosmetic surgeries that can keep us from looking our ages.

face doctor

Most men and women in their 20s don’t have to worry too much about looking older. They have yet to develop those fine lines and wrinkles that deepen as we age. This is the ideal time incorporate an age-defying skin care regime into your daily routine. Regardless of whether you are in your 20s or your 60s, you should be taking care of your skin by using age appropriate skin care products. You should also regularly using sunblock to retain that youthful appearance.

The 20-somethings may not be an age group that has to be too concerned with aging but this happens to a good age for corrective facial surgeries such as rhinoplasty or chin implants. These procedures can adjust disfigurements or imbalances in individual features. Since the face has matured, people in their 20s have the chance to perfect the shape and size of their nose or strengthen the jawline.

If you want to begin a skin routine, but aren’t certain where to begin, the friendly staff at Dallas cosmetic surgeon Dr. John Freeman’s office will show you their lines of exclusive  and superior skin care products.

When we hit our thirties we will begin to see fine lines around our eyes, but they are generally minimal. Individual perceptions can make those fine lines seem more prominent than they really are. Your 30s are the best years to take preventative measures and use continue to use skin care crèmes and specialty facial care products.

It is when people hit their 40s that they really begin to show their age. Lines around the eyes, and mouth and creases along the forehead will become deeper, more noticeable. The skin doesn’t rebound like it did in our 20s and 30s; it loses elasticity and collagen production slows.

This age group often finds that eye lifts and brow lifts are instrumental in eliminating those deepening lines caused by repetitive facial gestures and movements. As we reach our forties, the fat that once gave us plump cheeks or other fuller facial features begin to diminish. Our features can begin to look hollowed out or sunken, lifts for the brows and eyes can eliminate wrinkles caused by a shift in facial adipose. Chin implants can fill out the face giving the patient a rejuvenated and youthful appearance.

The mouth, neck and jawline will also begin to show the effect four decades of gravity can have on the face. We can begin to develop the “turkey neck”, lines from the mouth to the chin become folds and we see the beginning of those dreaded jowls. This is a good time to consider a neck lift or chin augmentation.

Unless you have fabulous genes, or have already had preventative lifts and other cosmetic enhancements, the fifties are really when the ravages of time become obvious. Our wrinkles are obvious and gravity has seriously taken its toll. Some people in this age group may only require minor lifts, but many men and women find that total facelifts are the best method to turn back the hands of time. A facelift in your 50s or 60s can make you look several years younger and the results will be long-lasting.

If you look older than you would like and would like to refresh your appearance and enrich your self-esteem speak with Dallas face doctor Dr. John Freeman to determine which cosmetic surgeries will make you look and feel younger.

Choose the Right Facial Surgeon

July 6, 2013, Dallas, TX- The plastic surgery industry has expanded a great deal over the past two decades. New procedures are being developed and refined and there are now more cosmetic surgeons for a patient to choose from. No matter what cosmetic surgeries you want or plan to have the most assured way to get the best results is to hire the very best cosmetic surgeon, and here are some tips to help you determine which cosmetic surgeon is right for you.

plastic surgery freeman

The first thing you should do is to check the plastic surgeon’s credentials; are they board-certified in the surgery you are considering? This is especially important because any doctor can legally perform a nose job, which means even a podiatrist could perform a nose job, but board-certified plastic surgeon has two to five years general surgical experience in addition to one or more years of cosmetic surgical experience.

If you are having a nose job, a chin implant, face lift or other procedure that permanently alters your face you need to make certain the person you are choosing has the necessary education and skills to give you the best results.

In addition to being a fellow at Vanderbilt University and the recipient of numerous awards, Dallas cosmetic surgeon Dr. John Freeman is board certified in maxillofacial surgery. Dr. Freeman has focused his professional career on correcting facial flaws, minor imperfections and disfigurements by improving the natural contours of his patient’s faces.

After checking into a plastic surgeon’s credentials, a prospective patient should set up a consultation where they can discuss the surgeries they are considering what end results they hope to achieve. The consultation allows the patient and surgeon to establish trust, which is crucial to any successful cosmetic surgery. Having trust in a cosmetic surgeon can help alleviate any anxiety a patient may have prior to and after their surgery.

Dr. John Freeman considers the consultation to be an important step in establishing a strong patient/doctor relationship. During this crucial meeting, he will diligently listen to your wishes, expectations, and address any concerns his patient’s may have.

Dr. Freeman will thoroughly explain a procedure so his patients have a clear understanding of what the surgery itself and the recovery process will entail.

The consultation is the time to discuss which procedure or procedures the patient wishes to have and gives the surgeon the chance to make their recommendations on whether additional procedures are necessary to achieve the patient’s goals. Sometimes a nose job patient can also benefit from a chin augmentation to assure their faces retain a harmonious balance.

A consultation will also give a patient the opportunity to see photos of a surgeon’s previous clients. Any successful and practiced cosmetic surgeon will gladly share before and after photos of previous patients. Dr. Freeman proudly displays photos of some of his patients on his website.

Any person considering plastic surgery should do some research, both about their procedure and the doctor that will be performing their procedure. If you are in the Dallas-area, set up a consultation with Dr. John Freeman to discuss how he can help you put your best face forward.

Wrinkles Hide Our Emotions

June 24, 2013, Dallas, TX- Gravity can take its toll on the face, and it turns out that wrinkles not only make us look old but they also conceal our emotions, making it more difficult for people to read expressions, and sometimes misinterpreting them as unhappy or angry, a new study shows.

Researchers at the University of Pennsylvania showed participants 64 photographs of people and asked them to rate those faces based on the emotions being conveyed. According to researchers, the people in the study rated the faces of older people as more sad or angry even though their expressions were actually neutral.

Lead researcher and doctoral student in social psychology and University of Pennsylvania, Carlos Garrido explained to LiveScience that wrinkles can make the mouth droop, and causes deep creases to form between the eyebrows and on the forehead, something people could misinterpret as anger or sadness.

It may be a generational thing. A 2012 study appearing in the Journal of Experimental Social Psychology, showed that young people rated the faces of their peers as expressing anger and happiness more intensely than older faces. On the other hand, younger people stated that older faces expressed sadness more intensely and their faces sometimes expressed mixed emotions, despite the fact that younger and older people featured in the photographs had the same expression.

The fact that those deep lines and creases around the mouth, eyes, and across the forehead that form as we age can not only make us look older, but can also make it impossible to read our emotions may give further impetus to older men and women. Many people think about facial cosmetic enhancement, but have been reluctant, now have another valid reason to speak with a Dallas plastic surgeon. No one wants to look angry or sad all the time and they don’t have too.

People aged 40 and older can greatly benefit from a number of facial cosmetic procedures that allow people to turn back the hands of time. Injectable fillers and a number of surgical procedures can

A facelift is very effective way to eliminate deep creases and wrinkles that run from nose to mouth and ones that form under the eyes. It also has helps correct sagging in the middle of the face. A facelift also eliminates jowls which are actually fatty deposits that form along the jawline due to the force of gravity.

With age a person’s forehead can appear to be locked into a permanent scowl that alone can add years to a person’s face. If you are not ready for a facelift, a brow lift can effectively eliminate those deep furrows on the brow and take years away from the face.

Chin lifts and cheek augmentations can also help a person combat the signs of age. A chin lift can remove the double chin and give the jawline more definition. A cheek augmentation can give added fullness so the face no longer looks hollowed out.

Chin Implants Transform Aspiring Actor

June 23, 2013, Dallas, TX- Ryan Gosling is one of Hollywood’s hottest actors; with his well-defined jaw line, his seductive blue eyes and his ruggedly handsome face.  Gosling’s good looks have inspired internet memes and he not only makes women swoon, but he also makes other men envious, so much so that one aspiring actor, Ryan Nicholas, underwent facial cosmetic surgery to strengthen his jaw line and give him a stronger more masculine chin.

“He’s got a look that a lot of people in America are looking for right now, especially in my line of work,” Nicholas told the UK’s Daily Mail. “I’m hoping I’ll get more auditions and roles if I look more like Ryan Gosling. That’s why I had the surgery.”

Nicholas described Gosling’s face as an “architectural masterpiece,” calling him the sexiest man in Hollywood.

To transform Nicholas’ face to look more like Gosling’s he asked his cosmetic surgeon to redefine his jaw by adding implants between his cheekbones and jawline. He also had injectable fillers to give his cheeks added fullness giving him that manly squared-off look.

Nicholas is not the only man to transform face through cosmetic surgery and chin implants and augmentations. An April study by the American Society of Plastic Surgeons showed that chin implants among men skyrocketed 76 percent over the past decade, and rose overall by 71 percent in 2011 alone. The 55 and above demographic was the biggest driver in the popularity of the chin implant with 8,459 of 20,000 chin procedures performed on this age group.

Lacking a strong jawline or having a disproportionately large chin can lessen the appeal and harmonious balance of a man’s face. A robust jaw line not only portrays strength and vigor but also helps a man turn back the hands of time and gives them a youthful and revitalized appearance.

ASPS president Dr. Malcolm Z. Roth explains, “The chin and jawline are among the first areas to show the signs of aging. People are considering chin augmentation as a way to restore their youthful look just like a facelift or eyelid surgery.”

Facial cosmetic surgery has many benefits, the patient after a short period of recovery will see a marked improvement in their appearance, but the biggest benefit may be apparent in their self-confidence. When men feel better about how they look they can experience a significant boost in their self-esteem which will become apparent in their personal and professional lives.

Nicholas’ transformation has done just that; he says, “The first time I looked in the mirror I was shocked at how much of a change it was, I looked so much healthier too.” He added “Before now, my career was quite slow, but I’m just getting started. I’ve worked on a couple of television shows, and I just landed a new show.”

Men don’t have to want to be an aspiring actor or strive to look like a Hollywood star to justify having a transformative chin augmentation, facelift, eyelift or other facial cosmetic surgery.

Dallas-area cosmetic surgeon, Dr. John Freeman has helped numerous men and women transform their looks and defeat the ravages of time. Whether you want a stronger jaw line or want to reduce the signs of age, Dr. Freeman will use skilled hands, surgical expertise, and aesthetic sensibilities to help you enhance your natural features.

Long-Lasting Results from Facelifts

June, 13, 2013, Dallas, TX- The face is important; it’s the first thing people notice about us and gives them an impression of our age, personality and capabilities. As we advance in age, wrinkles and sagging skin can quickly give away our ages, and people, women especially, hate for people to know how old they are. And nothing is worse than having a person think you are older than you actually are. It’s the need to defy the ravages of time that drive people to their cosmetic surgeons for a facelift.

Before making the decision to have a facelift, patients want to know: How long will the results of my facelift last?

A study published late last year in the Journal of Reconstructive and Plastic Surgery, found that the youthful appearance attained by undergoing a facelift lasted approximately 5 ½ years after the original surgery for the majority of patients.

Researchers from the study evaluated the photographs of 50 patients, who had a face lift five years earlier. Using a strict set of criteria, which included measurements of the jowl height and the chin to neck angle, assessment of lines that appear from the nose to mouth and mouth to chin and a scoring of the patient’s overall appearance, the researchers found that facelift patient’s appearance was remarkably improved.

“Scoring suggested that 76 percent of patients will still look younger 5 ½ year after a facelift than they did prior to facelift,” researchers said.  That is an exceptional rate of success and should give patients the assurance they need if they have any doubt about the having the procedure.

Facelifts have such a high rate of success that it ranked within the top five most popular cosmetic surgeries in 2012. The ASAPs 2012 Annual Statistics showed that while some cosmetic surgeries like liposuction and breast augmentations experienced a decrease, facelift actually increased by 6 percent.

Other popular facial procedures included nose reshaping (rhinoplasty) and eyelifts which increased by 4 percent in 2012.

Even though women made up the majority of preformed facelifts, men are becoming more accepting of plastic surgery. Facelifts form men increased by 6 percent overall in 2012. An increasingly competitive and younger workforce is the motivating factor behind the rise in cosmetic surgery among men. Rhinoplasty and eyelifts were also popular procedures for men.

Of course, even though the ASPS study showed that the youthful appearance achieved after undergoing a facelift can last 5 ½ years following surgery, the skills of the a patient’s plastic surgeon are also key to long-lasting results.

Facial plastic surgery requires a doctor with superior skills and a keen eye for symmetry and balance. The face is so important that a patient must chose a plastic surgeon they have confidence in and completely trust.

Dr. John Freeman, a Dallas cosmetic surgeon specializes in beautifying the face. His goal is to build a trusting relationship with his patients and listen carefully to their desires and expectations. By focusing solely on the face, Dr. Freeman has been able to hone his skills giving his patients get the very best care.

Are Smartphones Aging Faces Faster?

June, 5,2013, Dallas, TX- At first there was the cell phone and people all over the world flocked to them and it was too long before almost everyone had one, making pay phones obsolete. Then those clever tech geniuses created the smartphone and now several years later a large majority of Americans, especially younger ones, would never dream of leaving the house without it.

natasha business 064

While these handy devices have mostly pros, unless you are using them behind the wheel, or when trying to cross a busy intersection on foot, there is at least one con; they may be aging your face faster, causing wrinkles and a saggy neck, at least that’s what some cosmetic surgeons say, according to story by Forbes.

Smartphone users spend countless hours each day looking down at their devices and furrowing their brows to look at their screens. The constant downward gazing with your face bent forward could be shortening the muscles in the neck causing the neckline to sag.

Though how your face ages depends on largely on a person’s genetics along with long-term exposure to the sun, other factors such as smoking and looking down  at a computer or smartphone can play a role in the premature aging of the face and neck.

There hasn’t yet been a study to determine the effects of smartphones or handheld devices on skin elasticity, there is a correlation between the increased of cell phone use and the increasing popularity of skin tightening and facial cosmetic procedures. The American Society of Plastic Surgeons reported that face lifts increased by six percent last year.

Then there’s the social media affect, many people are unhappy with they look online. Frequent users of the various social media outlets like Facebook and Skype often complain about how their jawlines look through the lens of their web-cams. A double chin is much more noticeable when you’re looking down.

So what can a person do? Well, there is the option of ditching your smartphone, but in all reality nobody wants to do that. The next option would be tackle the problem with one of the many anti-aging procedures available at cosmetic surgeon Dr. John Freeman’s office in Dallas.

Among the procedures available to help you combat “smartphone face” are the face lift, neck lift, and brow lift. Fillers such as Botox can help minimize the appearance of wrinkles and if you’re worried about having a week jawline through the web-cam.

A brow lift is a great procedure for people who have fine or deep lines along their forehead and between their eyebrows. With this procedure those furrows and frown lines are by remove excess skin and muscle that has begun to sag.

Facelifts are a fantastic way to defy gravity since it reduces the appearance of those deep lines that form around our noses and mouths. With strategically placed incisions loose skin is pulled taught, making the face look revitalized and rejuvenated.

Smiles Top Dating Preferences

May, 29, 2013. Dallas, TX- Being a single person in the competitive dating world can be daunting. Appearance and chemistry are the keys to finding the right partner and almost everyone wants to find the right person to be with. Little can be done about chemistry, but your appearance is a different matter and according to a new study the mouth or more appropriately the smile is the key to having a successful dating life.

Close portrait of girl smiling

The survey conducted in Briton showed that when dating, both men and women placed a higher importance on a person’s smile than they did on the how they look in a bathing suit. And not only is the smile important in our dating lives it is also important to our careers.

According the Female First, 75 percent of survey respondents agreed that a stellar smile was most important when choosing a love interest. For a quarter, crooked teeth were a turn-off and would stop them from a dating a person. That’s because to most people your smile, the appearance of your teeth are reflective of pride you take in your appearance, at least that’s how 50 percent felt.

Not only did a fantastic smile help a person on the dating front, but it was also a boost to your career.  Looks did mean everything to the respondents, with the majority saying that straight teeth were a sign of wealth and success, signaling that an individual has a good job.

Judi James, a behavioral psychologist explained why the smile is so important to Female First UK, “The great thing about people having the confidence to smile is the natural impulse in the receiving person to return the smile. This instantaneous reaction often triggers a dramatic effect on our own mood, creating a sense of well-being.”

James added, “The outward performance of happiness and well-being produces a similar effect on our subconscious – by echoing a smile, it can give us a boost in confidence and cheer us up.”

The gist of the study is; if you want to have a successful love life and a fruitful career you need a nice smile and straight teeth. As with any part or portion of the human body, not all people are blessed to have perfectly straight teeth, sometimes because of a birth defect or injury.  Many people have a cleft lip or palate or both. Others are have overbites or under bites that cannot easily corrected with braces.

Maxillofacial surgery was developed to help individuals struggle with the less than perfectly straight jaws and teeth, or other flaws that make one’s smile unappealing. Patients in the Dallas area who needs someone to give them a beautiful smile can turn to Dr. John Freeman, who is a board certified maxillofacial surgeon.
