Celebrities Boost Chin Implant Surgery
April, 4, 2013, Dallas, TX- The chin is in; beating out breast augmentations in popularity over the past year. There are a number of factors why more and more people are having chin augmentations and implants. Acceptance among celebrities is one of the many reasons chin augmentations procedures have shot up.
A study by the American Society of Plastic Surgeons found that chin augmentations were the fastest growing cosmetic surgeries for 2011, increasing by a stunning 71 percent.
That’s because the chin defines a person’s facial profile. A well-defined jawline or prominent chin projects a sense of self-confidence, strength, and decisiveness. A person with a weak jawline can feel insecure, and unhappy with their appearance, this can hold them back in their personal and professional lives.
While more definition is good reason to choose a chin implant, the desire to defy the signs of aging is also fueling the popularity of chin enhancement surgery. The jawline is one of the first areas to give away a person’s age, making chin procedures popular with both men and women in their forties and fifties; a weak chin can add years to an aging face. And, unfortunately, gravity begins to tug at the jaw and older people started to develop jowls, but it’s a problem that can be easily corrected with a chin augmentation.
President of the ASPS, Dr. Malcolm B. Zoth said, “The chin and jawline are among the first areas to show signs of aging… We also know that as more people see themselves on video chat technology, they may notice that their jawline is not as sharp as they want it to be. Chin implants can make a dramatic difference.”
Recently, Real Housewives of Orange County star Vicky Gunvalson admitted to having a number of cosmetic enhancements among them a chin implant. Gunvalson also told US Weekly, “I did some cartilage reconstruction on my nose. I had some fat injected in the upper part of my cheeks so I don’t have any more wrinkles. And I did a little chin implant.”
As many plastic surgeons recommend, Gunvalson combine her chin implant with a nose job. These two procedures together can add a harmonious balance to the patient’s face making the symmetry of the face more aesthetically pleasing.
Over the years, a number of notable celebrities have had chin implants, including Sarah Palin’s daughter Bristol, Heidi Montag, Teen Mom’s Farrah Abraham and even Arnold Schwarzenegger.
Plastic surgery patients often ask their surgeons to alter their features to look like their favorite celebrities and the chin is no different. Halle Berry, Anjelina Jolie, Keira Knightley and Jennifer Lopez have the most sought after chins among chin augmentation patients.
Most cosmetic surgeons will gladly give patients the chin profile they request, but only if it enhances the natural beauty of their other features.
If you are Dallas resident who has decided that a chin augmentation is for them they are encouraged to contact Dr. John Freeman to sculpt their chin so they can put their best face forward.
